Welcome to MRTQ PDN’s new blog! MRTQ PDN staff will use this space to share early childhood-related current events, program updates, and longer form articles on topics of interest.
Our first blog will focus on the first of several conferences being co-sponsored by MRTQ PDN taking place this fall. Maine’s Statewide Early Childhood Education Conference is a two-day conference being held at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5.
This 2019 Statewide Early Childhood Education Conference is brought to you by MaineAEYC, Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network, Educare Central Maine, Head Start Directors and the Head Start State Collaboration Office, Family Child Care Association of Maine, and DHHS Office of Child and Family Services.
Explore topics such as social and emotional development, learning through exploration and play, building resiliency, trauma-informed practices, continuity of care, deepening connections with children and families, early childhood mental health, inclusion and special education, working in multi-age settings, coaching and mentoring, and early childhood leadership, policy, and advocacy.
Discover how our knowledge of these topics facilitates early learning success in public and private PreK-3, preschool, and infant and toddler early care and education.
In collaboration with this conference, MRTQ PDN and Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child and Family Services, are hosting the 2019 Recognition Celebration dinner on Friday night from 6:00-8:00. All conference attendees are welcome to attend the dinner as part of the conference activities. The event will feature a buffet dinner, speakers from MRTQ PDN and OCFS, recognition of professional achievements, and the presentation of the 2019 Marcia Lovell Awards. We hope that you will join us for this special celebration!
If you’re interested in registering for either day of the conference (or both!), click here to open the MaineAEYC website with full details (including links to local hotels) and a link to online registration.
In future blog posts we’ll share information on other upcoming conferences co-sponsored by MRTQ PDN.
