You may have noticed that Rising Stars for ME includes two versions of the Standards – one for Facilities and one for Family Child Care. The categories align with the Child Care Licensing Rules and the Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP). Programs of all types –centers, family child care programs, small facilities, Head Starts, nursery schools, license-exempt, etc. – can view the Standards for their program by using the Rising Stars for ME Decision Tree.

For small facilities – programs licensed for twelve or fewer children operating outside of a residence – please use the Family Child Care Standards. These Standards are more appropriate for smaller programs with fewer staff.
